An Improv Wild Card competition like you’ve never seen before. The audience is the decider. Players give the show their ‘improv best’ to win the coveted ‘Ace Award for Best Improvised Scenes.’

Yes! WILD CARD IMPROV returned November 14, 2025, to The Arts Center in Carrboro! Wildcard gives audiences a glimpse into what makes improv work. The show had a very successful run in 2019-2020* (pre-COVID), and now it’s back and better than ever!

Wild Card Improv is based on the concept that good scene work is the foundation of improv and that by wrapping it in an entertaining game format, both Players and the audience will enjoy the performance even more. The audience gives feedback to the Players by voting on each scene. Players must support their randomly chosen scene partners in facing unknown scene elements (wild cards) given to them on the spot.
